| Temperament, what
is it?
David Keirsey recognized, in his research on holistic behavior
patterns, the consistent tendency of human nature to sort itself
into four patterns. These patterns, or themes, are not boxes to
lock people into but are “home bases” from which they
operate from when interacting with the environment around them.
Within these patterns or behavior are preferred talents used to
satisfy core values and needs. It is through this process that individuals
can become “Self-Actualized” as described by Abraham
Maslow in his work on motivation and personality.
Knowing more about yourself and your operative style opens the
door to understanding others in life and the workplace. We use materials
by Linda V. Berens, Ph.D. to best convey understanding and use of
Temperament.
